Math: Lesson 84 ; “Geometry is Everywhere” project due January 26
Geometry is Every Where!
- Use magazines, newspapers, etc…to find examples of 35 of the following geometric concepts. Each photo or picture must identify only one concept. The figures must be found within a real life item. (A stop sign being used as an octagon would be acceptable).
- All concepts included in this project should be put in numerical order according to the list of concepts provided.
- Neatly identify, name, and number each concept---identifying includes marking the concept on the picture. Use only unlined paper.
- No more than 5 concepts per page.
- Create a cover sheet and bind your sheets together.
- You may find 10 additional concepts for up to 10 extra credit points. Mark each extra credit concept with a star. After the project is graded, the extra credit points will be added.
- Project is due on or before 1/26/2012
- Counts as a test grade
- Write at least a 2 paragraph essay responding to the following questions
- Based on what you have learned, how would you explain the statement Geometry is Everywhere?
- Did you enjoy the project? Explain why or why not.
