Personal Testimony

I was raised in a family that attended church intermittently; however I had an aunt who continued to pray for my family and was a great influence on my life.  I sought the reality of Christ as I grew and began to read the Bible as a young child.  At the age of 13, I accepted Christ, but it was not until I was married that I came to know Him in a personal manner.  I married into a Christian family.  Through them, I learned about the unconditional love of Christ.  I learned of the importance of a daily walk with the Lord and His principles for life.  I again accepted Christ, but this time with understanding and commitment to Him.  I learned about a merciful and gracious God that had His hand of protection always on me.  As I have gone through the fire of life, He has kept His hand on me and has allowed me to come out on the other side more refined and more in his image. He has had a plan for me and has guided me through life.

General Goals and Responsibilities

It is my responsibility to teach each child to the best of my ability and challenge each child intellectually, emotionally and spiritually so that they can discover His truth in their personal and spiritual life.  It is the duty of the teacher to help every child realize their potential and God’s plan for their lives which comes from knowing that God’s word is their guideline as they grow and develop.  Together, we can train the children to be the best that God would have them to be.

I also believe that just as we are members of the family of God, we are also a part of a family in the classroom.  We have individual strengths, weaknesses and differences to bring to the classroom.  Everyone has something to offer.  God made each of us in His image and we should all celebrate our differences.

Thirdly, I believe that each child is like a complex puzzle.  Parents and teachers are part of the molding process to help each child become the person that God has ordained.  As those people, parents and teachers must work collaboratively for the good of the child.  Neither holds the complete answer.  Parents and teachers must listen to each other and work together, knowing that they each have the integrity of the child at heart.
