Message to Parents and Students:
In Matthew 18, the disciples ask Jesus, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”  As I think about this question and the answer Jesus gave I am once again impressed with Christ.  I am sure His answer was not what they were expecting. He could have told them to be like Noah, Abraham, Moses, or any of the other patriarchs of the Jewish faith. If he had, I think everyone would have reverently nodded in agreement…but He didn’t.  He told them to be as little children. Isn’t it amazing that Jesus told them that the ones they were instructing were the instructors? I love how highly Jesus esteems children and how precious they are to Him. As a mother I have tried to discover why Jesus said to be like children, and every time I think I have figured it out, I find another aspect of greatness in them. Whether it is their incredible ability to forgive or their ability to completely trust, or their uninhibited way of expressing their emotions without thought of appearances, or many more that I haven’t yet discovered, I am glad that they are our examples. I hope that as we raise and instruct these children together we remember to keep our hearts open to what they are teaching us about Christ.
Personal Testimony
I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus when I was 7 years old. In college I veered away from my faith and finally came to a crossroads where I had to decide whether or not to keep moving in the direction I was going or go back to living for Christ. Thankfully God was gracious to me and gave me the strength to return to Him.  Ever since then it has been a continuous process as God is constantly transforming me into His likeness. This process is both beautiful and painful. My sinful nature does not want to yield and yet my heart longs for deeper intimacy with Christ. I am definitely a work in process and have not “arrived”, nor do I think I ever will. There will always be more room for learning, changing, and surrendering in my life. Yet I love walking this journey with my fellow believers, the wonderful body of Christ, as we continually encourage and support each other in our individual trials.
Responsibilities and Goals

To provide an environment where students feel loved and are encouraged to enjoy learning.  I believe education is a very important door to opening their eyes and minds to the world around them. I believe it is my responsibility to discover each child’s learning style and teach in a manner that my students can retain information and expand on it.
