Message to the Parents and Students:

I have been tremendously blessed with the opportunity to teach in a unique Christian classroom environment.  Children Kindergarten through 6th grade pass through my classroom on Spanish day and touch my heart in ways that cannot be described in any other way than as a gift from God.  The students are ambitious, respectful, and most importantly equipped with special, God given gifts and talents fashioned in a way that makes them unique and special.  It is both interesting and exciting to watch how God uses those gifts and talents as learning tools for us all.  Life is a journey full of learning situations, surprises, challenges and great triumphs.  As we travel this adventure together, it is my prayer that every child feels, sees and hears the love of Christ in our classrooms and throughout our school.  I pray that every child feels safe, loved, and encouraged, respected, challenged and validated.   I look forward to discovering the treasures this year holds.

Personal Testimony

I grew up in a Christian home where my family had two constants in our lives – God and each other.  I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior when I was 11 years old during VBS in this very church!  At that time, I learned exactly what Jesus did for me.  Jesus’ life was pure and blameless, and yet, He willingly went to the cross to pay the ransom for the sin of mankind, including me.  I have never been more convicted in my life.  Simply put: my life was not my own, but to be used as an instrument for God’s glory.    Years later, I became a mother and with it, another defining moment in my life.  God used this precious experience as a life lesson to understanding the depth of love our Father has for us.   God became very real and my relationship with Him, very personal.  He began showing me through my children what it is like “raising” me, His child.  As a new parent, I quickly learned that a parent’s love for their children is immeasurable and indescribable.  We attempt to protect them physically, emotionally and spiritually because we want only the very best for them, even when they do not understand.  God wants the same for us, His children!  The privilege of becoming the Spanish teacher has had the same significance in my life.   Learning to embrace the unique positive qualities of each student is rewarding and an eye opening experience to growing my faith.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to watch our students grow and mature in their academic and spiritual journey.    As we all grow our faith, I pray that God equip me to instruct the students in a manner that is glorifying and honoring to Him.

General Goals and Responsibilities

The classroom is filled with little faces and personalities that are constant reminders of the lessons yet to be explored.   I believe that it is my responsibility to provide a learning environment that is Christ centered where the students are encouraged, inspired, challenged and loved.  My goal is to instill an interest in learning the foundations of the Spanish language, utilizing a variety of manipulatives and other interesting and fun learning activities to make Spanish come alive!
